What is Speed Search and how will it help my business?
Whitepages’ Speed Search enriches your contact list with comprehensive contact information, including cell phone numbers, of over 275 Million people nationwide.
In order to use Speed Search, you must first get your contact list into Whitepages. This can be accomplished easily by exporting or copying/pasting records from your current system and importing them into Whitepages with a few clicks. Through a simple guided process, Whitepages will display results most closely matching your list of searches. Once your list has been fully matched, you can export the list of contacts to a file to update your current system.

How do you upload your contacts into Whitepages?
If you have a current system where you store your customer contacts, you can export the data into a comma-separated value file (CSV) or spreadsheet file (XLXS or XLS). Then, select the file from your computer using the ‘Upload a CSV or XLS’ feature of Speed Search.
If you are working from an existing spreadsheet like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, you can copy the contacts from your spreadsheet and paste them into the Copy-and-Paste feature of Speed Search.
Alternatively, you can download the attached sample file and populate the file with your contacts. After downloading and saving the file on your computer, open the sample file using a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Replace the example data with your contacts’ information in the relevant fields in the spreadsheet. Save the file, and upload the file using the “Upload a CSV or XLS’ feature of Speed Search.
What are the file requirements needed to upload into Whitepages’ Speed Search?
All files being imported into Whitepages must:
- Be a .csv, .xlxs, or .xls file
- Contains fewer than 300 rows and 20 columns.
- Include a header row
- Avoid using an apostrophe or error messaging may occur
- Ensure phone number has the correct number of digits
- Must include the following columns:
- Last Name and City, State or Zip
- Full Name and City, State or Zip
- First or last name, Address and City, State or Zip
- First or last name and Phone number
In short, you can search for only phone numbers or only names, but not only addresses.
What columns are supported when copying contacts from a spreadsheet and pasting into Whitepages' Speed Search?
Whitepages’ Speed Search will take the following fields:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Full Name
- Address
- City
- State
- Zip
- Phone Number
In order for Whitepages to successfully find the right contact information, one of the combinations of fields should be included:
- Last Name and City, State or Zip
- Full Name and City, State or Zip
- Address and City, State or Zip
- Phone number
Can I import multiple files into Whitepages’ Speed Search?
Yes, you can but you can only upload and process one file at a time, before starting a new file upload. When you select ‘Upload a File’, our system will remember if you had completed the last file upload. You will then have a choice to proceed with the previous file or cancel and start with a new file upload.
Why can’t I access Speed Search from my mobile phone or tablet?
Speed Search is available only from a desktop computer or laptop or any browser that is wider than 900px. In order to perform Speed Search efficiently, your browser window must be at least 901px in width.
Why can't I export my Speed Search results?
Only after matching contacts can a list be exported. If you do not match any contacts after viewing Speed Search results, the Export option will be unavailable under the "Imported Searches" section of your dashboard. See screenshot below for difference in matching a contacts vs no matches:
